This page says what aswanluxorcruises.com collects, why, who else sees it and how to
have it removed. It covers this website only.
Who is responsible
This site is run by Aswan Luxor Cruises, operated by Egypt Planners
— a licensed Egyptian tour operator, Egyptian Ministry of Commerce registration
No. 256841 — from our office in Giza, Egypt. For anything about your data, write to
inquire@aswanluxorcruises.com or
message +20 155 502 3396 on WhatsApp. We answer
within two hours in office hours.
What we collect, and why
When you ask for a quote
The inquiry form asks for your name, email address, WhatsApp number with its country
code, your nationality, your travel dates, how many adults and children are traveling
and — if you are bringing children — their ages. There is also an optional box for
anything else you want us to know. We record which page you sent the form from, so the
reply is about the right ship or trip.
We use these answers for one thing: to write your quote and talk to you about it.
Nationality decides visa and ticket prices, a child’s age decides the cabin price and
whether a cruise suits them, and your dates decide which ships sail. We do not build a
profile of you, we do not sell or rent your details, and we pass them to nobody except
the operator of the ship, dahabiya or hotel you decide to book — which needs the
travelers’ names and the dates to hold a reservation.
The legal basis is the steps leading to a contract with you, and our legitimate
interest in answering the question you asked us.
When you subscribe
The newsletter box stores your email address and the page you entered it on, on the
basis of your consent. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to
remove you at any time.
When you simply read the site
Our server keeps standard access logs — your IP address, the time, the page, your
browser’s user agent — which exist to keep the site up and to investigate abuse. They
are not used to identify readers.
With your consent we also use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages
are read and roughly where readers come from, and Microsoft Clarity,
which records how a visit moves through a page: which links are clicked and how far down
a page people read. The inquiry form is masked in the page itself, so what you type into it is never part of a recording. Until you accept, both run in a restricted mode that stores nothing
on your device, and Clarity’s script is not loaded at all. If you reject them, any
analytics cookie from an earlier visit is deleted. Our own staff are excluded from
Analytics.
We do not advertise on this site, there is no advertising or social pixel on any page,
and the fonts are served from our own server — so reading a page sends nothing to a font
provider. The full cookie list, with lifetimes, is on the
Cookie Policy page.
What we never collect
No payment details. Nothing is paid on this website — there is no
checkout, no card field and no payment processor. When you decide to book, payment is
arranged separately by card link or bank transfer, and no card number is ever entered on
or stored by this site.
Who else sees it
Only the companies that make the site and our mail work, and only for that purpose:
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Hostinger | Hosting, and the content delivery network that serves our pages. |
| Zoho Mail | The mailbox your inquiry arrives in, and the address our replies are sent from. |
| Analytics — only with your consent. | |
| Microsoft | Clarity — only with your consent. |
| The operator you book | The travelers’ names and the dates, which is what a reservation needs. |
Some of these companies are outside Egypt and the European Union, so your details may
be processed in the European Union or the United States under those companies’ own
standard data-protection terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your inquiry for as long as we are trading. A Nile cruise is often planned a
year ahead and postponed twice before it happens, and travelers write back years later
for a second trip — so an inquiry is a record we expect to need again, not a lead to be
cleared out. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
You can have it deleted at any time, whatever the reason, and we will do it
rather than argue. Email
inquire@aswanluxorcruises.com from the
address you wrote to us with, and everything we hold about you — the inquiry, the
answers, any subscription — is removed. Analytics records are kept for the period set in
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which is measured in months, not years.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or
ask us to delete it. Write to
inquire@aswanluxorcruises.com from the
address you contacted us with, and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the
European Union or the United Kingdom you also have the right to object to processing
based on our legitimate interest, the right to receive your data in a portable form, and
the right to complain to your national data-protection authority.
You can withdraw consent for analytics whenever you like with the
Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page — it takes effect at
once, and the cookies are deleted.
Children
This site is written for adults planning a trip. We ask for a child’s age only
because it decides the price of a cabin and whether a cruise suits them, we ask it of the
adult who is booking, and we market nothing to children.
Keeping it safe
The site is served only over HTTPS. Inquiries are stored in our own database and can
be read only by the members of staff who answer them — an account has to be an
administrator or an editor to see one at all. We do not copy inquiries into spreadsheets
or third-party tools.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change affects what we
do with information you have already sent us, we will say so here rather than quietly
amend it.
