St. George I is Sonesta’s most expensive Nile ship and one of the two priciest in our Luxury category. Launched in 2006 and styled in turn-of-the-century French fashion, it has a crew of 70 for up to 114 guests — a high ratio for the river.
All 57 are on the main or upper deck: 47 Deluxe cabins of about 22 m² with a king bed and a sofa bed for a third guest, 6 Presidential Suites, 3 Elite Suites and 1 Royal Suite. Double-glazed French windows open onto the river, and every bathroom has a spa unit with a steam bath, jacuzzi and water massage. Wi-Fi is free, and the TV carries a live channel from the bridge.
There is a main dining room, a lounge and a panoramic lounge, a piano bar with entertainment every night, a sun-deck bar and an oversize pool with a shallow end. There is no lift.
